Anota have several key client partners in this area but we will look at one particularly well-known medical manufacturing company, and how they use to power of DocuWare to deliver life-saving equipment.
A little about the client.
This client partner has many years of expertise in developing equipment for specialist surgery, which necessarily positions them at the forefront when it comes to the latest developments in technology. Over the last two decades, they have designed and manufactured a range of pioneering devices enabling some life-saving operations to be performed.
All their products are designed, manufactured, assembled, and/or built in-house. Their facilities include a machine shop, clean rooms, injection moulding facilities and warehousing. They are constantly evolving to improve competitiveness, productivity, and performance through the better use of knowledge, technology, and skills.
What does the typical manufacturing process look like?
The process starts with a team member on a workstation receiving an electronic work order document (a list of what needs to be done to manufacture a particular product). They then carry out the required sub-process and stamp the works order for stage completion (including job duration and completion time) to show the next workstation that the job had been completed. These steps are followed for every stage in the production of the device, to provide the full audit and QC visibility.
How does the client benefit from using DocuWare??
Anota has been working with this client partner for over 5 years, delivering a range of services and solutions to help them maximise their investment in the DocuWare DMS.
The key area is of course the processing of AP invoices, streamlining the way these are matched to their ERP system, work-flowing documents for approval according to specific matrices and storing for instant retrieval.
Alongside AP processing, the client uses DocuWare to store each work order. This means that should there be a product recall, the work order will provide a full audit trail to facilitate problem resolution and trackability.
They also utilise the system to facilitate electronic submission and processing for client availability of all completed works order documents
Finally, they store additional documents and utilise the archiving function alongside the full-text search to perform quick and easy search and retrieval based on any text element of a stored document.
